What Drives DCA?
The motivating factor that drives Desert Cove Assembly (DCA) can be found through the pages of Scripture.
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself” (Luk. 10:27, KJV).
It is the love of Christ, and for Christ, that DCA is driven to be that voice in the desert proclaiming the good news of Christ. In addition, DCA is faithful to encourage the saints of the hope of His eminent return for those who trust in Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
What we believe:
Knowing that some want to know what a church is all about prior to taking the time to visit in-person, we offer you this section to learn some of the basic elements of what DCA believes and practices? The following points highlight the foundational tenants one can expect and find in operation at DCA.
DCA Believes:
† The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God
† There is only one God, eternally existent in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
† Cleansing from sin is found only through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ
† Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is an absolute essential requirement for personal salvation
† Water baptism is through complete immersion of the body
† The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides physical healing through the prayer of faith
† The baptism of the Holy Spirit (according to Acts 2:4) is available to believers who seek and desire the infilling of His power and promise
† The sanctifying power found through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within the life of the believer, enabling the Christian to live a holy life
† The resurrection of both the saved and lost; the saved into everlasting life and the lost into everlasting damnation
† The deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, which includes His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His second coming in all His power and glory to rule over all the earth
† The blessed hope – the rapture of the Church at His glorious reappearing
DCA Church Leadership:
The leadership at DCA is not taken lightly. The work and calling of the Lord is serious business and also a great privilege. Our church leadership goes beyond a title and requires the leader to live a life closely aligned with God’s Word (the Bible), the church by-laws, and a genuine love for the Lord. Each leader is expected to take on the role of a mentor, a servant, a Christ-like example, and as a watchman over the congregation of DCA.
